Rooney senior was also in the spotlight over the weekend – for all the wrong reasons.

He slammed referee Tim Robinson for not awarding a penalty to his derby side when they were 2-1 down against Swansea on Saturday.

Rooney demanded that Robinson be banned and fined for his decision, and he should do it now faces an FA sanction for his comments.
