Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney wishes son Klay the best of luck as eight-year-old heads off for first-ever football tournament

WAYNE ROONEY was a proud dad on Monday as son Klay left home for the first time.
Eight-year-old Klay left for his first away football tournament as a representative of Manchester United.
And he looked the part in his United Tracksuit and matching suitcase.
Proud dad Rooney shared a photo of his second eldest son Instagram alongside a caption that read: ‘First tournament away. Good luck Klay.❤️”
Former TOWIE star Mark Wright commented: “Bless him.”
And others wished Klay well, with one follower writing: “Happy birthday boy.”

Another added: “Following in his dad’s footsteps 🙌❤️.”
And a third said: “Better than any first-team forwards. Good luck ❤️.”
Klay’s older brother Kai, 12, also plays for Untied at youth level, having signed a contract with the Under-12 side in December 2020 after being turned down by a number of other clubs.
He recently made headlines when he scored a brilliant curled attempt in a game against Manchester City.

Rooney senior was also in the spotlight over the weekend – for all the wrong reasons.
He slammed referee Tim Robinson for not awarding a penalty to his derby side when they were 2-1 down against Swansea on Saturday.
Rooney demanded that Robinson be banned and fined for his decision, and he should do it now faces an FA sanction for his comments.
