Man Utd have fewer players in England squad than Crystal Palace after Southgate replaced four players

MANCHESTER UNITED have sensationally fewer players in their England squad than Crystal Palace for the next Three Lions friendlies.
The startling revelation comes after Gareth Southgate made a series of squad changes to face Switzerland and Ivory Coast.
Former Palace star Southgate’s demolition saw FOUR players exchanged for the upcoming friendlies.
Reece James, Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tammy Abraham all missed camp in England through injury.
The messed up quartet was replaced by Palace youngster Tyrick Mitchell, Kyle Walker-Peters, Sam Johnstone and Ollie Watkins.
Mitchell will be teaming up with Palace pal and England debutant Marc Guehi along with Conor Gallagher, who is on loan to the Eagles from Chelsea.

The addition of the trio to the England line-up is the first time Palace have had so many stars in the national team since Ian Wright, Geoff Thomas and John Salako represented the Three Lions in 1991.
In comparison, United have just two stars in the English camp this time around with Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.
The pair weren’t supported by their Red Devils pals Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho who were shock absent from the squad.
Both have been overlooked by Southgate, who feels they have not been up to speed domestically this season to secure a spot in the Three Lions setup.

It’s a far cry from the days when the Red Devils’ stars formed the core of the England squad in days gone by.
National icons such as David Beckham, Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers, Teddy Sherringham, Nicky Butt, Gary Pallister and Andy Cole have all regularly featured in previous England squads.
Back then, it was Liverpool who rivaled United with the most players on the England team – not Palace.
But Southgate has shown his willingness to shake things up beforehand He has NOT included any United or Liverpool players in his squad to face Croatia for the first time since Euro 92 last year.
