Man stabbed with box cutter in New York City subway station

A man was stabbed to death with a box cutter early Tuesday during an argument at a lower Manhattan subway station, police officers and police sources said.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, got into an argument with another man on a northbound Line 4 train, police officers said.

As both men got off the train on Wall Street around 6:10 a.m., the assailant attacked his companion with a box cutter on the stairs, according to cops and sources.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The police were still looking for the attacker in the morning.

The nature of the dispute was unclear.
