A man was stabbed to death by an attacker who appeared to be a teenager aboard a train in Brooklyn early Tuesday, police officers said.
The victim was traveling on a southbound 2 train approaching the Winthrop Street station in Prospect Lefferts Gardens at around 5:10am when the young suspect attacked him, police said.
The victim, whose age is not yet known, got off the train on Winthrop Street, where he reported the incident, police officers said.
He was taken to Kings County Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect – who police said appeared to be a teenager and was wearing a black hoodie – had not been caught later that morning.
The motive for the attack was initially unknown.
In another recent attack on the rails, a 33-year-old man was arguing with a straphanger on a No. 4 train at West Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue in the Bronx around 7:30 p.m. Sunday when he was stabbed in the neck . said cops.
He was hospitalized in stable condition.
