Man stabbed in neck during NYC train brawl

A man was stabbed in the neck during a brawl on a train in the Bronx over the weekend, police said.

The 33-year-old victim was arguing with another straphanger on a No. 4 train at the West Burnside Avenue and Jerome Avenue station around 7:30 p.m. Sunday when the attacker suddenly stabbed him in the neck with an unknown object, the newspaper said police with.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where his condition was stable, police said.

The attacker ran away and has not yet been arrested.

In another incident around 4 a.m. Monday, a man aboard a No. 6 train at East 33rd Street and Park Avenue in Manhattan was robbed with a knife, authorities said.

Straphanger, 21, was riding the train when a man approached, brandished a knife and snatched his cell phone from his hand, police said.

The victim was not stabbed or slashed but suffered a cut on the hand when the suspect reached for the phone, authorities said.

The victim refused medical attention and the thief remains at large.
