A man was shot dead in a Bronx apartment after answering a knock on the door Monday night, police and sources said.
The 43-year-old victim was punched in the upper body by a gunman who knocked on the door of the residence on Irwin Avenue near West 234th Street in Kingsbridge just before 6 p.m., the NYPD and sources said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital by paramedics, where she was pronounced dead, police officers said. His identity was withheld pending notification of the family late Monday.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
