Man found dead on Halifax County road

LITTLETON, NC (WNCN) — A man was found dead on a street in Halifax County Saturday night, lawmakers said Sunday.

According to a press release from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, the man’s body was discovered around 9 p.m. on the 1900 block on Roper Springs Road, which is about two miles east of Littleton.

“The deceased appears to be a black male wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants and black shoes,” the press release said.

The deceased was taken to a nearby medical facility for identification by the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office.

MPs said the process to identify the man was underway on Sunday.

Deputies said anyone who can provide information about the case should call the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 252.583-8201 or Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252.583-4444.
