Man Arrested After RHOC’s Elizabeth Lyn Vargas “Detained” at Home – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Los Angeles man has been arrested following an “emergency situation” involving Elizabeth Lyn Vargas.

The “The Real Housewives of Orange County” alum was rescued by police on Tuesday, February 1, after being “detained for a number of hours” in her California home, according to her manager, David Weintraub. Vargas is now “doing well”, Weintraub says a local news outletbut “was traumatized by the events.”

According to a press release from the Newport Beach Police Department issued by E! In the news, officers intervened when they were called to a home near Balboa Pier for a welfare check. Upon arrival, police “observed an emergency situation and were forced to evacuate the victim immediately from his residence,” authorities said, without confirming the victim’s identity.

“Once inside the mansion, police officers encountered an armed male suspect actively threatening the victim’s life,” the statement read. “Officers acted immediately and detained the suspect.”

Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Ryan Geraghty. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, felony gun possession and extortion.

According to Newport Beach police, an investigation is underway.

Online records show that Geraghty is being held at the Central Men’s Detention Center in Orange County. He will appear in court on February 3.

It is unclear if Geraghty has obtained an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

After the unfortunate incident, Vargas was “happy to get out of the situation safely”, her manager said.

In a statement to Page sixWeintraub added, “She suffered a concussion and had an extremely traumatic experience… Fortunately, the Newport Police Department saved her and she is doing well.”

The manager also noted to KABC-TV that security around the reality TV star’s home “will be greatly enhanced”, adding, “nobody will really have any access.” with her.”
