Make your home smell great with these cheap candles and diffusers

CANDLES and diffusers are great ways to fill your home with the scents you love – but they can be expensive.
There are many simple ways to save, including making your own for a fraction of the price.
Here’s how to make your home smell great without buying expensive, trendy products.
LYRICAL WAX: Save on a candle by picking up a pack of Pacific Wax Co celebratory wax for just £1 at Asda.
Each block scents your home for up to 12 hours.
DIFFERENT SITUATION: Pour the sweet almond oil into a glass jar with a small hole in the top.
Add 30 drops of an essential oil, such as lavender or jasmine, to each half cup of carrier oil.
Shake the jar well.
Cut off the ends of half a dozen bamboo skewers to make reed diffusers.
BRING OUT SODA BAKING: This simple dish can help.
Sprinkle this mixture on the carpet before vacuuming or store the opened can in the refrigerator to help eliminate unpleasant odors.
Dust it on your trash to prevent the bin from turning whiter.
Grab the original 500g of bicarbonate soda for £1.75 at Wilko.
BLITZ BATHROOM: Eliminate odors in your toilet by pouring half a cup of bleach into the water after cleaning.
Help your family have useful habits by using an air freshener.
Poo-Pourri Before You Go Sanitizing Spray (59ml) is down from £7.99 to £4 at Holland & Barrett.
BIG SOFTWARE: For quick remediation of soft surfaces, use fabric spray.
Asda has deals worth £3 – £5 on products including Febreze Cotton Fresh fabric refresher spray (usually £2 for 375ml).
Deals extend to a number of room fresheners, including Air Wick Cherry Blossom air fresheners (usually £2 for 250ml).
GENERAL POINTS: Save even more by making your own room spray.
Beat baking soda with lemon juice in a large bowl.
Pour into a clean spray bottle and shake well.
Use it to remove pet and baby odors without chemicals. Better for the environment and your wallet.
