Lucky’s Pub ‘Stros Fan HQ returns with a pop-up location for Astro’s first homestand at Minute Maid Park

While you must have a game ticket to attend the Astros Street Fest before the game, a longtime Houston haunt returns for adult fans looking to soak up the opening day atmosphere.
Lucky’s Pub ‘Stros Fan HQ, located in a parking lot on Texas Avenue between Chenevert Street and Hamilton Street, opens at 11 a.m. Monday.
“This zone is a Lucky’s Pub pop-up,” says Lucky’s Pub Manager Mike Kurth.
Lucky’s main location on St. Emanuel Street was long a gathering place for sports fans and concert-goers in Houston before closing in June 2020 due to economic issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ve always thrown big street parties for the Astros, for the Rockets, and for the World Series and playoff games,” Kurth said. “When we closed, no one could take on that role.”
The pop-up runs until April 24th. It will include music, food, drinks and big screens to watch the game. Aside from a VIP section, which costs $50 per ticket, entry is free.
Guests must be at least 21 years old to enter the parking lot.
“This is more of the adult party,” Kurth explained.
Lucky’s Pub ‘Stros Fan HQ will celebrate the new baseball season but also pay tribute to a local business that has closed all three locations since 2020.
“Our Facebook page is like, ‘We miss Lucky’s on opening day,'” Kurth said. “We wanted to give the Houston back because it was missed.”
