LOVE Island stars Shaugha Phillips tonight had to contest Molly-Mae Hague’s comments.
The millionaire influencer, who is famous in the mansion alongside boyfriend Tommy Fury, was today branded as ‘tone deaf’ because her comment on poverty.
Shaughna appeared to describe the comments in a tweet, writing: “If you’re poor don’t be poor ♥️.”
Molly-Mae mentioned above Diary of a CEO podcast: “You’re given a life and what you do with it. You can literally go in any direction.
“When I’ve talked about that in the past, I’ve been stressed a little bit, with people saying ‘it’s easy for you to say that because you didn’t grow up poor, so let you sit there and say We all have the same 24 hours in a day that’s not right.’
“But, technically, what I’m saying is correct. We do.”
Molly-Mae continued: “So I understand that we all come from different backgrounds and we were all raised in different ways and we have different financial situations, but I think if you want enough stuff, you can achieve it.
“It just depends on how long you want to go to get where you want to be in the future. And I’ll go to any length.”
Shaughna, 27, joined the debate: “If there’s one thing about me, you’d never find me bragging about what I’ve got, or flashy, or flaunting my income.
“I VERY VERY understood that I had an absolute touch in life, and it wasn’t due to hard work. What I do now is not hard work and it never will be. lost to me.”
She tweeted: “Surely you know as someone in this industry how lonely and scary it can be when the whole internet is hitting you.
“You have the right to your opinion yes but I’m really surprised that you comment on this.”
However, she insists she means “no shade” when emphasizing: “She’s young and successful, it’s not her fault she has those opinions.”
“Molly Mae is young, quick to succeed and doesn’t have much ‘life’,” she explains. So I can understand why she holds that view.
“We all said things when we were younger and look back and think ‘that was stupid’ lol. Without the shade, I wanted to live in her bubble.”
Joking about the trouble she’s caused, Shaugha joked, “My anxiety wouldn’t exist if I just learned to keep my mouth shut lol Oh, I guess there’s always next year.”
