LOUIS Tomlinson has canceled his upcoming concerts in both Moscow and Kyiv
The move comes in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, with the former One Direction star attacking “unnecessary war”.
The 30-year-old singer also said “his thoughts are with the Ukrainian people”.
Louis is scheduled to perform at the Stereo Plaza venue in the Ukrainian capital on July 4 before traveling to Russia to play at Circus City Hall in Moscow on July 6.
However, due to recent events, the star was forced to cancel, with his official website displaying a “sale paused” notice for both shows.
On social media, Louis tweeted this statement: “Due to recent events in Ukraine, I have to announce with sadness that my tours in Moscow and Kyiv will be canceled until further notice. new newspaper.
“The safety of my fans is my top priority and my thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine and all those who are suffering from this needless war.”
Louis is not the only one to pull out of the Russian gig.
American rock band Green Day was also among the actions that canceled scheduled performances in response to its forces entering neighboring Ukraine.
It comes after the Russian Grand Prix scheduled for September was canceled and the International Olympic Committee urged sports federations with other events scheduled for Russia or Belarus to do the same.
Louis has managed to forge a successful solo career of his own.
He rose to fame in One Direction in 2010, before the boys split in 2016 for an indefinite hiatus.
