And Liverpool will now face compensation by the court if they want to sign him as a free agent this summer.

Carvalho has risen through the ranks in West London and has been in brilliant form this season under Marco Silva.

The Lisbon-born England star has scored eight goals this season, including four in the club’s last three games.

They have helped the Cottagers rise to the top of the Championship, with Marco Silva’s men looking for strong contenders for an immediate Premier League return.
