Live in the theater that Meryl Streep launched

A Hell’s Kitchen loft in a former theater where a young Meryl Streep once performed is on the market for $2.39 million.
Located at 414 W. 51st St., the home occupies the former Cubiculo Theater, which opened in 1968 as an experimental off-Broadway performance space.
Streep made her off-Broadway debut there as the fisher girl Tisbea in the theater production of Tirso de Molina’s The Trickster of Seville and the Stone Guest.
The five-story brownstone was built in 1910.
Aptly known today as the Cubiculo Condominium, it was also the home of the National Shakespeare Company, founded in 1962 by Philip Meister and Elaine Sulka.
It is now divided into three condominiums.
This two bedroom, two bath unit is 1,800 square feet.

It features 12 foot ceilings, lots of light, a 400 square foot loft, plus a yard and BBQ.
There is a chef’s kitchen, oversized windows, an open plan living/dining area and a study that could be converted into a small third bedroom.
The master bedroom features exposed brick walls, built in storage and a library ladder to access the raised storage areas.
The listing brokers are Lisa Chajet, Bonnie Chajet and Adjina Dekidjiev of Coldwell Banker Warburg.
