Lisa Marie Presley takes to social media after son’s death to praise Elvis biopic: ‘Absolutely exquisite’

Lisa Marie Presley has released her take on the upcoming ones elvis Biopic starring Austin Butler in the title role.

The singer-songwriter is the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley and the sole heir to the “Hound Dog” star’s estate.

After a 15-month absence from social media, Presley returned to Twitter and shared her thoughts on the film about her father with her followers on Saturday (May 14).

She confirmed she had seen the biopic twice and praised Baz Luhrmann’s direction and Butler’s portrayal of the rock ‘n’ roll icon.

“Let me tell you, it’s nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely exquisite. Austin Butler beautifully channeled and embodied my father’s heart and soul,” she said wrote.

Earlier in the thread, Presley admitted that her absence from Twitter was due to grief after the loss of her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020. He was 27 years old.

“I haven’t posted anything in a while because there really isn’t much to say as I mourn my son and will mourn forever,” she explained.

“Navigating this abhorrent grief that absolutely shattered and shattered my heart and soul swallowed me whole.”

She later said her other children, including actor Riley Keough, were emotional after watching the film for its tribute to their grandfather.

“It breaks my heart that my son isn’t here to see it,” Presley continued.

“He would have absolutely loved it too. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this film and I hope you love it too. Everyone involved put their heart and soul into it, which shows in their performance.”

elvis hits UK cinemas on June 24th.
