Lionel Messi was asked from Ligue 1 Team of the Year but Arsenal turned down Saliba and Man Utd target Kamara

LIONEL MESSI has been dropped from the Ligue Un Team of the Year for the 2021-22 season so far.
Group, compiled by Football observatory, omitted some famous names, including Neymar.
But none more so than Messi, 34, who has struggled to make an impact in Ligue Un since he arrived here last summer.
The Argentine has only one goal and five assists in ten league games and has been overshadowed by his Paris St. Germain, Kylian Mbappe, who joined the team.
Again PSG Summer signing Achraf Hakimi has also impressed Messi – he poked a slot for the right-back.
A total of 4 PSG players including Presnel Kimpember and Idrissa Gueye – Mauricio Pochettino’s team leads the rankings with 13 points and Marseille is second.
Their star player Dimitri Payet became Team of the Year after contributing 13 goals in 14 games.
And the inclusion of one of his teammates would be of interest Arsenal fan.

William Saliba, on on loan from the Gunners, has impressed in defence and plays his way in the chosen squad – Kimpembe and Rennes star Nayef Aguerd join him in a three-back formation.
Gueye has been selected as the standout defensive midfielder so far this term with Lens’ Seko Fofana and Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara making up the rest of the midfield.
Manchester United was linked with a move for Kamara after his impressive form.
Stade Brestois left-back Romain Faivre took the last starting position in the team with Montpellier goalkeeper Jonas Omlin in goal.
