Liev Schreiber hosts the Unite for Ukraine fundraiser in Washington DC as part of the BlueCheck initiative

The Unite for Ukraine fundraiser was moderated Wednesday night in Washington DC by Schreiber, who has some of his family roots in Ukraine.

He helped create a program called BlueCheck to ensure money gets to the people and organizations who need it most in Ukraine.

“So we decided to identify, screen and expedite financial support to organizations on the ground in Ukraine that are doing the necessary work,” said Schreiber.

Since March, the Blue Check initiative has screened more than a dozen organizations that need money to continue their work.
