LIDL has urgently recalled a popular Christmas product over concerns it could be contaminated with salmonella and cause serious illness.
The discount supermarket warns customers against eating plush stuffed dates because they can cause serious food poisoning.
Those who purchase the 240g pack, preferably before January 21, 2022, should return it to a Lidl store.
You will receive a full refund when returning dates with batch code 21301/196.
Don’t worry if you can’t find the receipt because you won’t need it to get your money back.
Salmonella causes food poisoning, with symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and general illness including aches and pains, high temperature and chills.
According to the NHS.
No other Deluxe products in Lidl’s stores are affected by recall, the company said.
Lidl has also issued an apology for any possible inconvenience.
Customers with questions or concerns can contact Lidl’s customer service at 03704441234.
It is not uncommon for stores and food manufacturers to recall items when they identify a safety concern.
Usually because they contain something that can cause food poisoning or an allergic reaction.
