Lee Westwood recalls ’90s nights out with Man Utd icon Gary Neville and says ‘thank god there was no social media’

LEE Westwood has reminded Gary Neville of their nights together in the 1990s after the Manchester United icon criticized the behavior of the current squad.
Neville, 47, slammed United owners, managers and players for it go on a world tour after their Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid.
Interim boss after the fall from Europe’s elite competition Ralf Rangnick went to Barbados to watch cricket while Marcus Rashford flew to Dubai and met professional boxer Regis Prograis.
Co-owner Avram Glazer was also spotted queuing for a kebab at the subsequent Grand Prix on Sunday go to Dubai to start a new cricket competition.
Former world No. 1 golfer Westwood replied to Neville, reminding him that he wasn’t exactly an angel in his day.
The 48-year-old said: “Late 90s. Living room. Manchester. Wednesday evening. You, me, Darren Clarke. Thereon.

“United have won trophies. It was me. It was Darren.
“Professionalism isn’t United’s problem. Talent is. Or lack of it. Too many average players.
“Thank God there wasn’t any social media back then, was there!?”
Former defender Neville had beaten his old club for his inability to read space, especially after such an important defeat.

The ex-England international wrote on Twitter: “I remember a time when United players, managers and executives were not seen in their local Italian after a home draw, let alone being kicked out of Europe.
“Last week we saw a global F1 tour, concerts, cricket and UFC events.
“This crowd is unmusical!”
Match of the Day expert Gary Lineker has expressed his thoughts on itand pointed out that in the days before social media, it was easier for United squad to remain inconspicuous.
He suggested not necessarily aimed at it Nevillethat players used to be “hammered into the pub” without attracting attention.
Lineker wrote, “Yeah, they were mostly busy getting pounded in the pub without everyone being on social media to spy on them.”
A scathing Neville ended the debate by adding: “Obviously watching other sports is not a problem.
“However, do you think it’s a good idea for the owner – who hasn’t been to Manchester in ages – to be at F1 and meet the elite of Dubai about their sporting ambitions in relation to United’s current situation? “
The Red Devils’ early exit from the FA Cup in January combined with this week’s international break means the club are without a game until April 2.
And having been criticized for their on-pitch performances this season, matters outside of that are also much frowned upon.
