Laughing ‘killer’ claims ‘Teddy Bear told him to stab his father of three’

A LAUGHING suspected killer claimed his teddy bear told him to fatally stab his father-of-three, a court has heard.
Can Arslan, 52, tells police He heard a voice telling him to kill Matthew Boorman, 43, and only later attributed this to his childhood stuffed animal.
He Stabbed Mr Boorman 27 times on his front garden in Walton Cardiff, Gloucestershire, last October before making his way into neighbor Peter Marden’s home to stab him eight times.
But forensic psychologist Dr. John Sandford said so Bristol In the Crown Court he is skeptical of claims of votes, saying Arslan has a personality disorder and not a mental illness.
And he described the killings as purposeful, premeditated acts with a set goal, rather than a frantic attack.
He said: “You have to have a certain skepticism about forensic psychology.

“When you get your own voice you’re always very skeptical, but when you get your own voice after a serious offense you’re even more skeptical.”
dr Sandford said that someone with a personality disorder can have firm beliefs that aren’t true, but not in the way someone with a mental disorder can have paranoid delusions.
Disturbing footage showed Arslan laughing as he told police “I warned you” when officers detained him after he killed his neighbor.
More video showed the moment he hit neighbors with a knife while attempting to massacre his neighbors.
dr Sandford said he doesn’t believe Arslan’s claims of not remembering the murder, adding that selective amnesia is a controversial psychiatric phenomenon.
He added: “There is nothing to indicate that this man is mentally ill or disturbed in any way.
“He does a series of purposeful actions that are purposeful. His goal is to kill Mr. Boorman and an attempt to kill his other neighbor.
“It’s very clear how he does it. He’s quite controlled in the way he stings. It’s not hectic. He slowly and deliberately stabs him in the neck.”
Arslan had verbally abused and threatened his neighbors for years and was about to be evicted from his property when he launched his attack on them.
He has admitted the attempted murder of Mr Marsden and inflicted grievous bodily harm on Sarah Boorman, Mr Boorman’s wife, which he cut in the leg as she tried to drag him away from her husband.

Arslan also admits to one charge of racketeering and is now on trial at Bristol Crown Court, where he is contesting the murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
The court heard that Arslan had a “terrific” and narcissistic self-image, claiming to have wealthy relatives, gangsters in his family and to have killed 61 people during his military service.
