There should be a 6ft 5in height limit in heavyweight boxing, jokes Larry Holmes.
Holmes, 72, says Americans are “too small” these days – and they could use a rule change to help them get back on top.
He told that Gary Newbon sports show: “American boys are small now.
“These guys coming from over there (UK) seem like giants! you take over.
“I can’t blame them. They are big boys and they make something of themselves.”
The American then quipped: “There should be a law or limit to the height you can be. Maybe 6ft 5 max.
“These guys are a growing man.
“I don’t know what they eat, but they eat something that makes them grow.”
Despite watching Fury dominate, 6ft 3in Holmes reckons his generation of heavyweights would have towered over the current crop.

The 69-6 puncher, who wore the WBC belt between 1978 and 1983, continued, “The greatest fighters that ever fought were the ones that boxed in the ’70s and when I fought.
“They had the Muhammad Alis, the Kenny Nortons, the Joe Fraziers.
“You had all the great guys out there.
“If you beat those guys, you got your credit.
“I had to do this to get my recognition. I had to beat those guys.”
