rain on me? Maybe not.
Pop superstar and actress Lady Gaga broke down in tears after cutting short her performance in Miami on Saturday due to “dangerous” rain and lightning conditions, she said.
The New Jersey native, 36, wetly apologized to her fans on Instagram for the rain cancellation – who she admitted may have been hoping she would perform in the rain.
“We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami but we couldn’t because even when the rain kind of stopped, lightning struck the ground so close,” she tearfully said in a video post.
“I know I’ve always wanted to be this hardcore villain for a long time, but what I really want is also to be responsible and loving, and I don’t know what I would do if something happened to everyone in the audience or any member of my crew or my band or my dancers.
The ‘A Star is Born’ actress apologized for not performing her 2020 single ‘Rain on Me’ in the rain, but said canceling the show midway was “a healthy decision.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t finish the show, it was too dangerous, the flashes were unpredictable and changing from moment to moment,” the “Bad Romance” singer said in a separate written post.
“See some of you called me ‘mother monster’ for years, in my heart I knew it was better to protect you. Thank you for believing in me.”
Saturday’s show at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium was the final stop of Gaga’s international summer 18-city stadium tour “Chromatica Ball.” In 2020 her album “Chromatica” was released.
“OF COURSE I wanted to sing rain to you in the rain,” the singer’s Instagram post reads.
“I think somehow I knew this moment was going to happen and I’m so grateful to you, my dancers, my band, the entire crew, everyone, my family and friends. Safety first. Loving You.”
