EDDIE HOWE revealed Kieran Trippier’s scan showed his foot injury is not healing as quickly as hoped.
But the newcastle The boss still expects the Englishman to return that term.
The £12million signing in January later revealed he might even have scored the winner that day with the injury.
He had a scan on Friday and while the results show the problem is improving, his recovery won’t be quite as quick as Toon had hoped.

It’s not fully healed. There it is.
“We’ll be able to push him, not as fast as we initially wanted.
“But I still think he will play this season but without a definite date. He’s making good progress.”
Regarding the Spurs result, Howe is confident it won’t hurt squad morale.
He said: “I don’t think it will. In hindsight, we can look back on that as a good thing. It could refocus our minds and bring us back to basics.
“We’re still in a huge fight to stay in the division. That’s six away games in seven. Now we’re going back home and it’s going to be massive games.
“After such a second half you want to play again very quickly. I want to put the memory of that game away.”
