Kay Adams invites you to celebrate her final day as the host of NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
Adams announced on the show Thursday that her final official episode will be Friday, and tweeted to “party” with the “GMFB” crew.
“I’m excited,” Adams said on Thursday’s program, adding that she’s not sure she’ll cry on her official final day.
“It sure is nostalgic,” she said. “This week we’ve had so many studios and so many moments and a million costume changes… It’s been a great ride.”
The Post reported exclusively in April that Adams is leaving GMFB and is a leading candidate to host Amazon Prime Video’s pregame show Thursday Night Football. No deal was finalized at the time.
Adams went on to say that “it feels good” to finally announce the news of her exit from the Emmy-nominated morning show.
“I’m so proud of our show,” she said, recalling the show’s debut in August 2016. “To get where it is now, this credible, serious, Emmy-nominated, Emmy-winning program is real.” great achievement for the four of us.”
Adams hosts “GMFB” alongside Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager.
“My last @gmfb is tomorrow!” she tweeted with a video clip announcing her departure. “End of an era. So proud. So grateful.”
Alex Riethmiller, vice president of communications at NFL Media, told The Post at the time, “Kay has been a huge part of the success of ‘Good Morning Football’ and we hope to keep her in the NFL Media family for years to come.”
Speaking on Wednesday’s “GMFB,” Adams said, “I wanted to make my news my own and of course there’s a lot of talk about that. I just wanted to invite everyone to come and watch our show tomorrow and celebrate my final episode. My last three hours here on Good Morning Football.
“I really want it to be a bit of a party… It’s been procured. It’s been confirmed, and now you can spit the words Will [Selva] that it’s my last show.”
It’s unclear what’s next for Adams on the hosting front, but she seemed to hint in January that she was looking for a bigger opportunity.
“It’s no secret that the goal is to have the pedigree to have the big boy seat at the table,” Adams said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Sirius XM, noting at the time that her contract with NFL Network expired in May.
NFL Network has not announced a replacement for Adams. The program also hasn’t replaced Nate Burleson, who left GMFB last August to join the morning news show CBS This Morning. His co-host chair has since been filled with a rotation of guests.
