CONOR MCGREGOR did not ask compatriot Katie Taylor on her behalf to confront arch-enemy Jake Paul.
Irish UFC legend, 33 years old, joins a fierce battle of words and emotions on YouTube of a 25-year-old American youth over a potential silly money wars that has become a bit sinister.
Paul posted a $50 million fight offer video for McGregor in December 2020 but also called him an ‘Irish asshole’ and insulted his wife Dee.
When Taylor and Paul visited SunSport HQ on Monday – to help boost the undisputed lightweight queen’s defense against Paul-promoted Puerto Rican icon Amanda Serrano – rival teams are segregated.
And Taylor insists McGregor – who has attended some of her matches – has not been contacted for support while she is in the sights of the controversial superstar.
“Me and Amanda from small countries are very proud to punch above our weight in the ring,” she said.
“I’m proud to come from Wayne McCulloch, Barry McGuigan, Steve Collins and Carl Frampton and she has legends like Miguel Cotto and Felix Trinidad.
“We carry all of our legacy and fighting pride and it will feel like our whole country is in New York.”
When reminded of Conor’s war of words with Paul and asked if things could get heated, the diplomat coldly laughed: “No, they didn’t move on.
“But he didn’t tell me to lift him.”
