We’re going to the final This is us fans. Only three episodes of the popular NBC drama remain, and the next appears to be a dope. This is us Season 6 Episode 16 will focus on that Consequences of Miguel’s death and his tribute to Rebecca. And the Big Three – Kevin, Kate and Randall – try to pick up the pieces for their mother.
The Big 3 help Rebecca after Miguel’s death on This Is Us Season 6 Episode 16
This is us Co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger wrote This is us Season 6, Episode 16, “Family Reunion,” and Chris Koch conducted the lesson. The synopsis for the episode reads, “The Big Three come up with a plan for Rebecca.”
In episode 7, Rebecca gathered her children and Miguel for her own family reunion. She informed them that once she could no longer make conscious decisions for herself, Miguel would be her executor. And if Miguel weren’t there, Kate would take his place. Now fans know this was an omen of things to come.
Miguel died in This is us Season 6 Episode 15 sometime after Kate and Phillip’s wedding. So the Big Three must come together to decide the best course of action for their mother after her primary caregiver is gone. Randall then calls a family reunion between himself, Kevin and Kate This is us Season 6 Episode 16. But as we all know, Kate is ultimately the one who makes the final decision about Rebecca’s care.

Kate calls Toby for advice
In which This is us In the Season 6 Episode 16 preview, Randall claims, “My mom was magical. We need to pay her back for everything she’s done…I think we need to have a family reunion.”
At said meeting, things get tense between the Big Three. It seems like Kevin, Kate and Randall all have different ideas about what’s best for Rebecca after Miguel’s death.
Randall says, “I think she should move in with me.” And Kevin replies, “It’s the opposite of what she wanted. I will do as you wish if it kills me.”
In the meantime, Kate calls her ex-husband Tobyfor advice on how to navigate this difficult decision. She says, “I can’t decide what’s best.” And Toby does his best to calm her down. He tells Kate, “Your mother chose you for a reason.”
Apparently encouraged by her conversation with Toby, Kate turns against her brothers. She says, “You two need to be able to look at her.” And when Randall replies, “We look at her all the time,” Kate remains strong and says, “No, you don’t, Randall.”
A reunion of the Pearson family never fails to bring tears to my eyes and we are confident that Kevin, Kate and Randall’s reunion will be one of them This is us Season 6 Episode 16 will do the same.
Jon Huertas reveals that Rebecca’s health begins to deteriorate in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 16
When speaking to Weekly entertainmentJon Huertas, who plays Miguel, discussed his character’s devotion to his wife in This is us Season 6 Episode 15 and how his absence feeds into the next episode.
“Miguel loves Rebecca and wants to be there for her when she dies,” the actor explained. “But at the same time I loved how they told the story, how they conveyed Miguel’s conclusion. I just thought it was so well done. And at the perfect time. It’s a few episodes from the end.”
Huertas added: “Also, Rebecca is having some issues but is doing pretty well [this] episode, right? So we know that when two people who are so connected and love each other so much, usually when one of them dies, the other is quick to reject it. So in the next three episodes it will justify the rapid decline she may have.
According to Huertas, fans will likely start watching Rebecca’s illness worsens in recent episodes because of the loss of Miguel.
This is us Season 6, Episode 16, “Family Meeting,” airs Tuesday, May 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
