Kat Von D drops the price of a goth mansion in LA to $12.5 million

Tattoos are permanent — but the asking price for hiding a body ink legend is certainly subject to change.

Famed tattoo artist and makeup mogul Kat Von D has saved $2.5 million from the 12,500-square-foot Los Angeles home, which she listed for a cool $15 million this year. That means the three-story Victorian building — which was also featured in the 2003 film Cheaper by the Dozen — is asking for $12.5 million, a listing representative told The Post.

The property dates back to the 1890s but was moved to its current location in Windsor Square – a historic neighborhood in the City of Angels – in 1915.

From the outside, the gated home has a Gothic charm — not only with a dark exterior accented with a tower and touches of black and gold, but also with an in-ground pool and spa whose water is tinted blood red.

The 40-year-old former real estate TV star, who transitioned from TLC’s LA Ink to a real-life acting role opposite Neve Campbell in new Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer, has arched double doors leading to a reception Area clad in dark wood. The room also features a fireplace with sculpted angels in the center, a staircase carpeted in blood red to one side, and a room with scarlet wall coverings to the other.

The listing images also reveal a handsome library with wooden bookshelves and a fireplace with a wooden mantelpiece, and a striking drawing room whose Versailles-esque features include gold-hued crown molding over sage-colored walls — all beneath a painted ceiling. This room also has an ornate fireplace. The wood paneled dining room with lead and stained glass windows has another fireplace.

Inside, the main house also has eight bedrooms that also deliver a somber-chic look. One has a gold-painted vaulted ceiling and carved wood-burning fireplace, while another is decorated in tones of gold and black.

Aside from the darker tones of the house, this room resembled Versailles with ornate moldings and a painted ceiling.

Five bedrooms are on the second floor, three on the top floor. (A carriage house on top of the garage has two more bedrooms, bringing the property total to 10.) The third level has an additional living space that can function as a theater with surround sound or without a screen as a stage.

A message requesting comment from Von D had not been returned at the time of going to press.

Jamie Sher of The Sher Group and Kirby Gillon and Bryce Lowe of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass share the listing.
