Josh Hazlewood of Australia eliminated from the second Adelaide Ash Test

Josh Hazlewood was eliminated from the Second Ash Test in Adelaide after sustaining a hip injury during Australia’s ripe win over England in Brisbane.

Baseball Australia (CA) said in a statement Hazlewood returned to Sydney on Sunday afternoon for further evaluation and rehabilitation, with a decision on his fitness for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne is done “in the proper process”.

Australia will bring a 14-man team to Adelaide on Monday morning including fast pitchers Michael Neser and Jhye Richardson, and jumper Mitchell Swepson.

CA said selectors will select a team for the Melbourne and Sydney Test after the Adelaide game.

Meanwhile, England head coach Chris Silverwood has hinted James Anderson and Stuart Broad are likely to return to the team.

The decision to remove the two top catchers in the country’s history in the opening game at The Gabba proved divisive, with Anderson and Broad’s concerns about sharpness in the game being ignored.
