Jim Carrey got into trouble for his anti-vaccine stance
Carrey has an impressive acting career that has spanned decades. The actor is best known for blockbusters such as Yes man, The mask, and sound. Though he’s known for his elastic facial expressions and physical comedy, his personal life takes center stage for entirely different reasons.
Carrey has spoken out against vaccines for years. The actor kept his life mostly private before dating his ex-partner Jenny McCarthy. However, when the two first started seeing each other in 2005, Carrey embraced more of her outspoken personality.
McCarthy was outspoken against vaccines. She publicly claimed they caused autism, a statement many experts have debunked for years. McCarthy has a son on the autism spectrum. Her views seemed to sweep Carrey away in a tidal wave of controversy when he soon began speaking out against vaccination.
In 2009, the actor slammed vaccination requirements for children. “In this growing crisis, we cannot afford to blindly trumpet the agenda of the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), or vaccine manufacturers,” he said. “Now more than ever we must resist the urge to close this book before it’s written.”
He accepted Twitter Calling on California Gov. Jerry Brown for the new law requiring vaccinations for all children in public schools. In his tweet, the actor called the governor a “corporate fascist” who “needs to be stopped.” Carrey further accused Brown of “poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in mandatory vaccines.”
The star drew the ire of scientists and critics, who slammed it Ace Ventura Actor for what many considered dangerous views.

In 2017, Carrey found himself in murky waters again as he weighed cheating allegations against golfer Tiger Woods.
In a Twitter rant, the actor said, “No woman is blind enough to overlook so much infidelity… Elin had 2 ba willing participants in the ride 4 for what reason… kids/lifestyle.”
The tweet did not go down well with many observers, who felt the attack on Woods’ then-wife Elin Nordegren was unjustified.
And in one incident in 2011, Carrey spray-painted the wall of his West Village art studio. As city officials painted over the graffiti, the actor painted over it with a character he dubbed “Baba.” TMZ reported.
In another case, the man in the Moon Actor has made a viral video expressing his age-inappropriate love for actress Emma Stone. In the 2011 clip, the then 50-year-old said he wanted to have “chubby little kids with freckles” with the 23-year-old.
