Jamie Anderson of the United States begins a search for three peat patches – NBC10 Philadelphia

Will Team America’s Jamie Anderson win three gold medals in a row?

Since the women’s downhill ski event debuted at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Anderson is the only athlete to win a gold medal in the event.

Now, at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the 31-year-old American tennis player will fight for three historic peat balls. If she finishes atop the skateboard podium again, Anderson will be the first skier to win the same event at three consecutive Olympics.

Anderson began his third consecutive gold rush with qualifying on Friday night at 9:45 p.m. ET. She will be joined by fellow Americans Hailey Langland, Julia Marino and Courtney Rummel. Langland finished sixth in the sport of skating at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, while Marino placed 11th.

Qualifiers will be broadcast on USA Network and live on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com.

The final round takes place on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. ET.
