James Bond: Danny Boyle finally shares what his unwanted 007 movie would have been about

Danny Boyle has finally revealed what his unwanted Bond film would have consisted of.

He would direct Daniel Craig’s last performance as 007 before Boyle parted ways with the project due to creative differences with the Broccoli estate.

Boyle previously said The Independent: “We were just arguing about how the script was going. I think they obviously want it the way they are and normally a director would accept that and go with that.

“But I have this relationship with my author [John Hodge] It’s quite intense, passionate and loyal and I wouldn’t change him – precisely because I really liked what he was doing. Our idea was good, but they didn’t think so.”

Now in a brand new interview with EsquireUKBoyle has revealed what his script for the untold Bond film was about.

“Oddly – it would have been very relevant by now – it was all set in Russia, which is of course where Bond came from, from the Cold War,” he revealed.

“It’s set in modern day Russia and it goes back to its origins and they just lost, how do you say it… they just lost faith in it.”

Boyle added that while the producers think they want something different, they don’t “really want” anything too untraditional.
