Jack Wilshere ‘more than one target’ for Serie B Como according to director as former Arsenal star targets free transfer

JACK WILSHERE is said to be still a target of Como on the Italian side according to club general manager Carlalberto Ludi.

Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere used to train back to London Colney to maintain his fitness.

But the 34-time England international has made it clear that the Gunners oppose Mikel Arteta don’t want to sign a short-term contract with him.

ONE number of Championship clubs said to be interested in the playerwith teams from Greece and Italy.

Serie B outfit Como was close to reaching his service last summer after Wilshere trained with them.

But the move to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia did not materialize due to passport problems.

However, the transfer could be made again, after Como Sports Commissioner Paolo Annoni provides an update on the deal.

Annoni has revealed that Wilshere is ‘more than a goal’ after a discussion with club director Ludi.

He came Facebook where he raised opinions on a number of topics the two talked about – including winning the FA Cup twice.

The Councilor wrote: “He (Ludi) has revealed some exciting news.

“Including a new signing is not just the goal: Jack Wilshere, a former Arsenal player.”

Despite the interest from abroad, Wilshere believes he can still do a job in the Premier League.

He told Letters: “Yes. I am confident that I can deal with the physical side and be influential.

“‘I always say when I return to Arsenal that I will make a decision on my next move at the end of January.

“Once you’re out of the game, you never know which way it’s going. But it convinced me that my playing career isn’t over yet.

“The manager is top class, and I still won’t train with the first team if I lower my standards or can’t keep up.

“I can still beat a man, and these are top players. For me it’s a sign that I can still do it and want to keep doing it.”
