In each Proof of Inspiration teaser, a member of BTS explained why they chose certain songs for the prove tracklist. Big Hit Music released J-Hope’s “Proof of Inspiration” teaser on May 22nd.
J-Hope’s Proof of Inspiration teaser revealed that the BTS rapper chose “Outro: Ego” and “Her” for the recording prove.
In his Proof of Inspiration video.J-Hope tells:
“I put ‘Her’ and ‘Outro: Ego’ on this album, prove. “Her” is essentially a love song, but some ARMY interpreted the lyrics as more complex, about the pressure of having to reshape me for “her”. There can be many different interpretations, but sometimes I have to wear a mask to hide the sides of me that I don’t really want to show other people. And I hid myself sometimes because I didn’t want to show that side of me either. But they are all me. I started accepting all of my sides as part of my identity, my ego, because the members and the ARMY all accept me. Who I am as I am, my ego is my proof.”
