‘It’s bad for us not to have a long-term plan’

FRED has accused Manchester United of failing to come up with a long-term plan for success.
And United’s The Brazilian star claims having a temporary manager at Ralf Rangnick is “a bit weird”.
FredThe 28-year-old confided: “I know in football it’s important to get good results as soon as possible, but it’s important to have a long-term plan.
“It was bad for us to not have it.
“For now, it’s all about short-term goals. We don’t know how things will be after the end of this season.
“It’s about better football planning at the club.”
It’s not clear at the moment Rangnick will continue as manager or move upstairs at the end of the season.
Either way, Fred insists the club’s hierarchy needs to get things sorted out so they can return to the challenge for major trophies.

He insists they should have won last season’s Europa League final against Villarreal.
Fred added: “Every player who comes to this club wants to win trophies. Me too, Bruno, Alex, Cristiano, Sancho, all of us.
“We wanted titles but it was a long drought. With all due respect to Villarreal, our mission was to win the Europa League final and we failed.
“If you don’t want to win trophies, you don’t deserve to play for Manchester United. We are still in the Champions League but let’s see if we get to next season better to find our top football again. “
United face Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League knockout games, but no injured striker Edinson Cavani.
The club are the outsiders to win the competition but Fred says that strange things have happened.
In an interview with TNT Sports Brazil, he said: “I know we don’t play our best football, but we have a lot of quality names in our squad. I see many other teams also playing far to their best.
“It wouldn’t be crazy, it could happen, but we have to do our best because we’re far from being one of the favorites in this competition.”
