After publication on 27 Wonder Cinematic Universe films have taught fans that almost anything is possible when it comes to Marvel. Iron Man could be Spider-Man’s mentor. Thor could band together with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Harry Styles could become an Eternal. And maybe Captain America could fight alongside the people of Wakanda in Marvel’s Black Panther 2.
Sam Wilson took on the Captain America shield in Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, has retired from his role as Captain America in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. He went back in time and reunited with his long-lost love, Peggy Carter, to spend the rest of his days. And by the time the present caught up with Steve, he was an old man and ready to hand his shield over to his best friend, Sam Wilson.
Six months after Events from Avengers: EndgameSam decided not to pick up the shield The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Instead, he gave Steve’s Captain America shield to the US government to display in a museum. Bucky Barnes, Steve’s other best friend, was furious with Sam, especially after the government appointed a new Captain America – John Walker. But Sam was conflicted about wearing the flag and stripes while he was a black man in America.
Sam and Bucky later teamed up to stop the Flag Smashers terrorist group. Walker wanted to help them, but after he murdered one of the terrorists with the shield, Sam and Bucky demanded that he return the shield.
In the finale of Marvels The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam finally accepts his destiny as Captain America. He dons a new suit made by the Wakandans. It’s a cross between his Falcon costume and the Captain America suit.

Anthony Mackie Talks Black Panther 2
On the Grammys red carpet, Marvel star Anthony Mackie revealed and reported for Laverne Cox E! newsthat he was on set Black Panther 2but not as Captain America.
“I’m very excited to say they’ve just wrapped up film Black Panther 2‘ the actor shared. “It’s going to be fantastic, it’s going to be spectacular. I’m not [in it]but i saw i was [to the set], I witnessed. I am very happy that everyone can see it Black Panther 2. You just wrapped it up. It’s in the can, it’s coming out, it’s done.”
It’s unclear what Mackie was doing on that Black Panther 2 something other than just hanging out. Marvel stars have been known to lie about their appearances in upcoming projects, so maybe Captain America will be there Black Panther 2.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Premieres exclusively in cinemas on November 11, 2022.
Anthony Mackie will star in the next Marvel movie, Captain America
After the final of The Falcon and the Winter SoldierMarvel announced that Anthony Mackie would star as the titular superhero Captain America 4. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Showrunner Malcolm Spellman and series writer Dalan Musson will co-write the screenplay for the fourth film.
Not much more is known about the film as we don’t even have a release date yet. However, Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore gave an insight above Captain America 4 during an interview with Comicbook.com.
“I think he’s not Steve Rogers and I think that’s a good thing,” shared the producer. “Because this new cap is Rocky to me. He will be the outsider in every situation. He’s not a super soldier. He’s not a hundred years old. He doesn’t have the Avengers. What happens to this guy who, without support, publicly proclaims, “I’m the new Captain America.” What happens next?”
Moore continued, “I find it fascinating because he’s a guy. He’s a guy with wings and a shield, but he’s a guy. So we’re gonna put him through the wringer and make him earn it and see what happens when he’s surpassed, surpassed, transcended. What makes someone Captain America? I will argue that it is not a super soldier. And I think we’re going to prove that with Mackie and Sam Wilson.”
