Iranian Guards fire cruise missiles during military drills

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guards have fired cruise missiles during a major military exercise across the south of the country. Tuesday’s report by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, believed to be close to the Guard, did not specify the missile’s range. It said five cruise missiles were fired from ashore and offshore and successfully hit their targets. The five-day annual drills that began on Monday come days after talks broke down aimed at restoring Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers. Iran has accelerated its nuclear advances as talks to return to the accord are struggling to achieve success.
