I’m pregnant and decided to name my baby

CHOOSE a name for your baby is a big decision, one that takes many parents years to think about.
Often, parents try to keep their child’s favorite names secret so that they won’t be stolen by family members or friends.
But one mom-to-be revealed on Mumsnet that the method didn’t turn out the way she had planned.
The mother, who did not want to be named, said her sister is also pregnant and has chosen a name that is very similar to the one she intends to call her daughter.
Furthermore, both sisters use the same middle name, the name given to them by their grandmother after her death last year.
The mother planned to call her daughter Zara, but her sister recently announced that she is calling her daughter Cara.
She wrote: “I’ve been thinking about my daughter’s name for the past few years and I’ve never imagined naming my daughter anything else so I don’t even have a backup.
“I’m worried if I keep going, she’ll think I’m copying her and it’s going to cause a drama but at the same time, it’s the only name I want for a girl.”
She added that she sought advice from her sister, who told her it would be best to rethink the name as her other sister could ‘dramatic’ about things. ‘.
While concerned her sister would be angry about the names, she insists she has proof that she chose the name Zara before her sister announced her daughter’s name.
She continued: “Middle name, I’m happy to change to another name but would you change middle name in my situation?”
The post received a lot of talk from users and left many people sharing it in the comments section.
One person wrote: “Cara and Zara are different names and different enough not to worry. What do the names mean?”
Another said: “I’m going to keep my middle name but change the first, just because I don’t want anyone to think I copied or mocked the rhyming, rhythmic nature of the names together.”
A third added: “I wouldn’t worry about this at all. Totally different names.”
A fourth commented: “Talking to your sister? In your situation I would be tempted to change the first name to something that doesn’t rhyme (Zoe?) but keeps the middle name. “
And me hates my four year old son’s name and he does too, he begs me to change it.
