Warzone content creator IceManIsaac has detailed why the Tempered perk is used in so many tournaments, stating that it allows you to be more “aggressive” in your gameplay.
Call of Duty’s famous perks system is back in Warzone Pacific, meaning players have options within their classes on where and how they want to expand their gameplay.
Recent buffs to the Restock perk have seen many being used to spam projectiles, but as has become common, most players are tuned into their chosen perks, with Ghost, Overkill, Double Time, and Amped being the most popular belong.
However, according to content creator and YouTuber IceManIsaac, there’s a new contender for the title of Warzone’s best perk, and it’s become incredibly common in pro tournaments and high-profile competitions.
In his 21.4 VideoIsaac explained exactly why so many high-level players are now using the Tempered perk, which means players’ armor is completely filled with two plates instead of the typical three.
In short, it gives players 75 extra health per armor plate and makes healing much faster. These are the reasons Isaac believes it’s so common in competitive environments.
“Don’t think of Tempered in terms of plate economy,” he said. “Yes, a single slab of Tempered gives you 75 health… that’s a secondary benefit. What is the real benefit of Tempered; It allows you to challenge your opponents more aggressively and catch them off guard. You’ll heal faster than they think. The value in it… talks about the last chance, the new challenge.”
When opponents press players to finish them off, they will be surprised at how quickly they regain their health. However, it can also be used offensively to catch enemies off guard by gearing up and charging faster than expected.
The only issue with Tempered is that it’s in the Perk 2 slot, meaning players must choose to prioritize Ghost or Overkill, two long-term meta perks.
If you play aggressively and are confident, there probably isn’t a better option in the game right now.
