We all love saving on our weekly grocery bills, but now you can pocket the best bargains Morrisons has to offer thanks to these insider tips.

Georgia Lister, from South London, has worked at the supermarket for almost two years so it’s safe to say she knows a thing or two about finding a sale.

“I love working for Morrisons because my role is very rewarding. I’ve contributed a lot and spent a lot of my time in the local community on behalf of Morrisons,” she told Fabulous.

Here, the 23-year-old, now the supermarket chain’s “community champion,” shares her top three tips to help you land a bargain.

Magic Box

We’d be lying if we said this doesn’t sound like an exaggeration, but according to Georgia, magic boxes do exist.

“The Wimbledon store – and I think most other stores – have two magic boxes a day filled with fruit and vegetables,” she revealed.

“It’s only about £4 but worth around £20, so it’s always good if you’re on a budget.”

The boxes can be ordered on the Morrisons website from around 9am daily and contain a range of different items nearing their expiry date.

To avoid missing out, Georgia says: “Make sure you have a My Morrisons account, where you can buy them through the app, then you’ll get your order number and a timeframe for delivery. “

Time is the key

“Always look in the reduction before choosing anything else because there are always things that have a ‘best-first’ date instead of a used-first,” says Georgia.

The best time to visit your local Morrisons is “around 8 p.m.,” Georgia revealed.

“This is when the last cuts come in so everything is 75% off. Before that I ate whole chicken for 50p, bread for 10p a loaf and even a birthday cake for 50p.”

Beyond age

In addition to food items, you can also find some pretty good bargains at the cosmetics aisle.

Georgia explains that sometimes Morrisons stops selling certain brands or products and when they drop prices.

“If we don’t sell them anymore or our store doesn’t have a lot of products left, these products will tend to go downhill to get rid of them,” she said.

“The cosmetics section is very nice because they often have things that are discontinued, so they’ll cost less. For example, 50p shampoo or sometimes less.”

The same can be said after the holidays including Christmas and Easter, and for these you have to go there when the store opens in the morning.

In addition, another Morrisons employee shared more Top secrets that customers don’t know.
