MASHPEE (CBS) – Christine Morley has a stressful job dealing with construction orders for a new kitchen. So, to relax, she signed up for a Massage Envy membership on Mashpee.
“It was perfect. And I love massages and for a while, everything was great – I could go in for a massage and go home in three minutes and relax,” Christine told I-Team.
All of that ended when the pandemic hit. Christine stopped getting massages, while still agreeing to pay a monthly fee.
Christine said she wants to be a good member of the community and allow the company to continue collecting money, believing it will let her get the massages she’s been stocking up on once she feels it’s safe to do so. come back.
And, they did. Christine has been vaccinated and is back in the massage business.
However, just a few months later, she was informed that the Mashpee location had closed. Her membership will be transferred to Hyannis’ location. Although Hyannis is not convenient for Christine, she agrees to transfer.
Not long after, Christine said she was having trouble scheduling and receiving the 19 massages she had paid for. And even though she asked to stop collecting membership fees, she was still charged.
Morley said: “Nobody listened to me.
That’s when she turned to Group I’s Call to Action. We went straight to Massage Envy Franchising LLC for answers.
It told us in a statement: “We understand someone is reaching out to a member in an effort to find a solution.”
Amazing, Christine said she received a call from her manager telling her he would personally book her massage.
She is now very happy and comfortable and grateful for the help of I-Team.
Morley also said Massage Envy has stopped charging her monthly membership fees.
As a rule, most member massage companies have contracts with customers, so it’s best to check the cancellation policy before signing up.
