Police said the last daycare workers left at around 6:20 p.m. – minutes before the boy’s mother got there.

During a 911 call made by NBC6Martinez told authorities her daughter was in a dark room.

She told the newspaper: “She was badly traumatized. It’s not fair.”

The two-year-old was able to push a chair by the window to try to get her mother’s attention.

Martinez revealed that she felt “helpless”, calling it “the worst feeling ever” when her daughter cried.

She said: “She was stressed and definitely cried the whole time she was there alone.”

The fire brigade rushed to the scene and they were able to reunite the mother and daughter.

Anastasia has been examined by doctors and she does not need any further treatment.

Martinez testified that she did not receive a call from staff to pick up Anastasia.

The daycare center closes at 6 p.m. but staff often stay later to accommodate late pick-up parents.

“Nobody has to go through this,” says Martinez. You pay for the trust and they completely nullify that. I have no idea. I’m still in shock right now.”

‘SHOCK’

Her attorney told Local10 News.

The lawyer said: “This whole event could have been avoided had KinderCare not waived its responsibilities and that of the child.

“What makes the injury all the more insulting is that no one at KinderCare was bothered to answer the phone during this emergency, they didn’t apologize for their bad behavior and offered nothing but a bad excuse for the people who were hurt. what happened.”

A spokesperson for KinderCare told NBC the company is “very grateful that the child was found quickly and safely.”

They admit what shouldn’t have happened. Teachers and staff will receive additional training.

The incident is being investigated by Plantation police and the Broward Sheriff’s Office Child Protective Service.

The Sun approached KinderCare for comment.
