One woman said she was forced to wear long sleeves for more than four months after receiving a snake tattoo with a wound.
TikTok User Lauren said she wanted something “cute,” but was left reeling by the final ink.
She started the clip by sharing a compilation of completed snake tattoos on different parts of her body, including her hands and torso.
The caption read: “I think my snake tattoo will look like.”
But then she transitions the images “to what it looks like” when she shows a tear that resembles the outlines of a scaly creature.
In the comments, she revealed that she was initially stunned by the tattoo – for choosing to look away from most of the ink.
One user asked “how did you not notice”, to which she replied: “I was watching and then started looking away,
“I guess I trusted too much.”
Lauren then went on to explain that she was so terrified of the tattoo that she didn’t even pay the artist and instead decided to cover it up ASAP.
And after being prompted by the user, she revealed that she ended up choosing a floral design that had been “left behind by a snake”.
The challenge comes just weeks after a woman revealed she had been awarded Reptile inspired design around her arm – although asking for a tattoo sized bracelet.
She also explained that the tattoo was meant to be “cute” and had a specific meaning, but was horrified at the end result because it didn’t fit who she was.
“It means cute. The meaning is like a snake shedding its skin, it will symbolize growth. It’s just a cute little icon.
“But then he did this. And now I have to walk around as if ‘I’m edematous’. ”
