Striker Kane Evans will miss the first three games due to a ban, although chest scans suggest he will not miss any more as there are no major injuries.

And boss Hodgson revealed he is scouring his home market for another body, likely as a temporary move.

He said: “We are still looking at options in the UK. Our quota is full and we do not want to transfer to any quota players.

“We are looking at all options. We need to strengthen our strength a bit. When everyone is fit it won’t be such an issue but at the start of the season it could be a possible loan deal on the cards.

“Nothing has come to fruition yet but we are still looking. Everyone is looking for strikers at the moment. “

LATEST IN RUGBY LEAGUE

Meanwhile, the Super League has arranged a much-needed French TV deal with BeIN Sports.

Now, some of the Catalan side’s home matches will be held on Sky in the UK, with reciprocal arrangements if the Dragons are broadcast here, as they are in the Grand rematch. The Final opens on Thursday at St Helens.

The top flight bosses want to arrange an insurance policy after Toulouse’s promotion from the Championship.

Under the original agreement, at least nine of the Dragons’ 13 home games would be televised, plus Play-Offs and Grand Finals.

Negotiations are ongoing about some of Toulouse’s matches on French television.

Broadcast rights in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have been agreed.
