How to revive your character in Elden Ring with Larval Tears

Elden Ring has a system that allows you to respawn characters to change classes or switch weapons. Here’s everything you need to know, including where and how it’s done – and even what Larval Tears means.

Elden Ring has ten starter classes to choose from. How you build them and what weapons you use is up to you. The downside, however, is that you can mess up a build by delivering incorrect statistics.

It’s also possible that you’re bored with a weapon and want to change or find something interesting with stat requirements that you don’t meet. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems.

Elden Ring allows you to fully resurrect your character. It is only available after defeating a specific boss and requires a rare and expensive item – Larval Tears – but better than nothing. Let’s see how to do that.

How to revive your character in Elden Ring

The first step to resurrecting your character in the Elden Ring is defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. You can read our guide on how to do that by clicking here. She is the second main boss of the game after Godrick.

After defeating Rennala, you will be teleported back to the Academy Library. She will sit in the center. However, instead of being hostile, she will give you the chance to revive your character in exchange for Larval Tear.

Unfortunately, Larval Tears are rare and expensive. You need to be above level 50 before seeing one. So responding is not something you can do on a whim. However, we have some suggestions on where to find them.

Where to find Larval’s Tears in the Elden Ring

Larval tears are not common. However, there are some places that you are guaranteed to find. The first is located in Albinaurics Village, south of Raya Lucaria Academy. It’s near the well.

The second was released from the enemy Crayfish in Lake Liurnia. It is an upright one, unlike the others that sink around it. It is not the easiest enemy to take down. However, when killed, it will drop Larval Tear.

The third can be purchased from the Nomadic Merchant in the Siofra River for 3000 Runes. To get to that area, you’ll need to head down to the Siofra River Well near Erdtree in Mistwood. Run past the enemies down there and look for another elevator.

This will bring you to an area with more enemies. Ignore them and look for a small bridge hidden under a larger bridge. Walk along the scaffold, and it will lead you to the Nomad Trader. It’s a small trip, but it’s worth it.

That’s everything you need to know about resurrecting your character in Elden Ring. There are also other Larva Tears scattered throughout the map. However, they are few and far between.
