CORONAVIRUS planned to celebrate Christmas for families across the country as hundreds of thousands of people were isolated on the big day.
Sadly for some celebrities, they don’t escape a similar fate either – with popular stars and comedians seriously forced to stay indoors for Christmas.
Inbetwearies star Emily Atack was one of the first to reveal she had to cancel her plans after testing positive for the virus. Covid-19.
She took to social media and declared “f*** Covid” after she forced to spend Christmas day without her mother first.
The 32-year-old is extremely close to his mother Kate Robbins, but took to Instagram to reveal that they couldn’t spend the big day together.
Post a picture of them together, Emily wrote on Christmas Eve: “Surprised to have my first Christmas away from my mother.
“But she’s alive so I won’t complain too much. It’s all a bit right! F*** you Covid. Merry Christmas everyone.”
Emily later shared a snap of her dog Penny sleeping on the sofa and joked: “Pray that tomorrow Penny will know how to play Monopoly…
“Merry Christmas, you filthy animals. It’s been a very different year, but thankful nonetheless. Sending love to you all.”
Model Rhian Sudgen was also forced into quarantine over Christmas as she also took to Instagram to share a photo of her positive side flow test.
“Merry Christmas,” the post was captioned – with the star later asserting that she tested positive for the virus and not pregnant.
“The number of people who think it’s a positive pregnancy test! Where have you been in the last 2 years,” she wrote, alluding to her low egg count.
Earlier this year, the former female student of Page 3 hinted about Need IVF to have a baby?, making her and her husband Oliver Mellor “crazy”.
Meanwhile, star Dianne Buswell of the TV series Serious from the US also revealed that she and her boyfriend Joe Sugg are also “trying to see their positive”.
Dianne, 32, contracted Covid just days before the big day, and shared a veiled selfie with her boyfriend Joe, 30.
The Australian dancer wrote: “Try to see the positives in the POSITIVE, despite the fact that we are having a great day and I hope you all are too. “
Joe added: “The second year ran because we had an unusual, unexpected Christmas.. unfortunately Diannes has a Christmas tree (and a mini Christmas tree) so we are staying in the land of the… Santa to stay safe.
“It wasn’t exactly how we wanted to spend Christmas Day but the main thing is that she felt so much better and it was another Christmas that we will always remember.”
Olympic rower James Cracknell also had his Christmas celebrations interrupted after testing positive before visiting his family.
Sharing about the moment he was holding a positive lateral flow test and his dog, he wrote: “Santa Claus has abandoned what I’ve been ‘waiting all year for’. Covid.
“Trying to explain to Dug that I’m not just lazy. He didn’t buy it. Have a great Christmas everyone.”
James went on to post a picture with his pet dog, concluding: “I’m not Dr Dolittle but I think he’s thinking ‘You can’t give me a pet dog and you’re not going to come along. where’.”
