Houston crime: Man shot and later dies at HFD fire station where he was seeking help, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston Police Department have investigators at several locations in the city’s southeast, including a fire station where a man was driven to and died after a shooting Tuesday.

The police department tweeted details about the shooting at about 5:15 p.m. in the 4900 block of Doolittle, which is just off the South I-610 Loop, where HPD Southeast Patrol officers responded.

“An adult male was transported to a local fire station in a private vehicle. The man died at the fire station,” HPD tweeted.

Police gave no further details beyond what was posted in the tweet.

HPD’s tweet showed officers outside the fire station and crime scene tape blocking the Doolittle neighborhood.

SkyEye also flew over the neighborhood where several squad cars were spotted.
