Houston crime: Man injured in apparent street shooting north of Houston, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A man is expected to survive after police said he was injured in a street shooting north of Houston.

The shooting happened Wednesday in the 700 block of TC Jester. At the scene, police said the victim and the suspect had an argument on I-10 when the suspect opened fire and drove away.

No additional information about the suspect was released.

The TC Jester shooting comes less than 24 hours after a separate street shooting injured a 9-year-old girl in southwest Houston.

In that incident, police said a family of four was heading to the grocery store when they were caught between a white van and another vehicle that appeared to be racing.

One of the drivers, believed to be riding in a white GMC Denali, cut the front end of the family car several times.

From there, paramedics took the critically ill child to Texas Children’s Hospital, where he was operated on overnight.
