Houston crime: Man chased and shot as he exited supermarket, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two gunmen chased a man and shot him dead near a convenience store while he was driving in northwest Houston, according to police.

Officials said the three men got into a fight around 1am at a Chevron gas station on Tidwell in Antoine

The man who was later shot told police he punched one of the gunmen, police said. Then it escalated in the parking lot.

“When our victim who was shot tried to leave the parking lot, these two young men came out. One of them chased alongside the car and shot the vehicle,” Lt. R. Willken of the Houston Police Department.

Police said the shooting victim ended up crashing into the gate of a nearby apartment complex. Then a gunman kept shooting at him.

According to the police, the man should survive.

It was unclear what sparked the dispute. The police are still looking for the shooters.
