Officers said officers began pursuing a suspect around 3:40 p.m. around Leawood Avenue and Bissonnet Street. It’s not clear why they were chasing the driver.
“He’s hitting a bunch of cars. He’s hitting a bunch of cars,” said one officer, Rangecast’s voice could be heard.
The suspect opened fire on the officers, who returned fire and attacked the suspect in the 13400 block of Westheimer Street.
“Shoot shot, fired. Be suspicious,” said one officer, the Rangecast voice could be heard.
No officers were reported injured.
HPD & PIO commanders were on their way to an officer-involved shooting at the 13400 block of Westheimer Street.
Earlier reports were that a suspect led officers in a pursuit vehicle and fired shots at the officers, who returned fire and knocked the suspect down. No officers were injured. #hounews pic.twitter.com/Sko948VGm4
