RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — Retired U.S. soccer goaltender Hope Solo was arrested Thursday in Winston-Salem on charges of driving with a disability, TMZ reports.
Solo had her two children with her in the car when she was arrested in a Walmart lot at Parkway Village Circle in Winston-Salem, the report said.
She was charged with DWI, resisting arrest and child molestation.
On Friday, a Statement was posted on her Twitter Account saying:
“On the advice of the lawyer, Hope cannot speak about this situation, but she wants everyone to know that her children are her life, that she was released immediately and is now home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial ones charges and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend those charges.”
